The challenge

Atlas had powerful forecasting logic hidden behind an interface built around accounting terminology. Owners could see every number, yet still needed an analyst to explain what those numbers meant for tomorrow.

Our response

We reorganized the experience around decisions rather than reports: money in motion, near-term commitments, safe-to-spend guidance, and the few changes that require action.

01Understand

Understand

Follow the decision, not the data model.

Interviews and task walkthroughs revealed that users rarely arrived asking for a report. They arrived asking whether they could hire, pay, or wait. Those questions became the new information architecture.

02Design

Design

A hierarchy built for a two-minute check-in.

The home view leads with available cash, upcoming pressure, and meaningful movement. Detail remains close, but it no longer competes with the daily decision.

03System

System

Financial meaning, expressed consistently.

A compact token and component system aligned status, trend, risk, and confidence across desktop and mobile without relying on color alone.

Illustrative outcomes for this fictional case-study narrative, not results from a real client engagement.

The new concept gives every number a job. You know where to look, and you understand why it matters.
